Community Resources

College degree and job training programs aren’t the only opportunities provided by the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC). The community can access additional courses and resources to build life skills and take the next step toward their educational and professional goals.

Here, you can improve your reading and speaking skills with literacy or English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring, or you can learn CPR and first aid skills. You also can take Adult Basic Education and GED® Preparation courses or complete testing at the SVHEC Assessment Center. Entrepreneurs can access free one-on-one consulting through the Longwood Small Business Development Center and additional support and resources through the SoVA RISE Collaborative.

Have a need? Just let us know. We’re happy to connect you with our vast network of resources to support your educational journey.
