The SVHEC will hold a Resource Fair on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The Resource Fair will bring 22 organizations and agencies to the SVHEC campus for an afternoon of information and resource sharing. Members of the public are invited to attend this free event to learn more about local resources.
The SVHEC will host a full day of activities on March 18th starting with an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 10am-2pm. Donors are encouraged to pre-register online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=svhec. The American Red Cross typically experiences an increased demand for blood during the summer months, so donors are encouraged to give now to help build up blood supplies.
Starting at 12:00pm, two local food trucks, Wayne’s Fish and Chicken and “Out Da Mudd Steakhouse” will be selling on-site.
The Resource Fair will begin at 2:00pm. Confirmed attendees include the Halifax County YMCA, Virginia Career Works, Virginia Dept of Health, Dept of Social Services, Healthy Harvest Community Garden and more.
The Resource Fair will also showcase the programs and partners housed on the SVHEC’s campus including Southside and Danville Community Colleges, Trio Educational Opportunity Center, SVHEC Workforce Training Programs, Southern VA Higher Education Foundation (scholarship program), Halifax County Chamber of Commerce and the Longwood Small Business Development Center.
This is a family friendly event, and all are welcome to attend.
