The Longwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The SBDC supports entrepreneurs, start-ups and small business owners with education, consulting and economic research. As the SVHEC works to advance the economic potential of southern Virginia, providing potential and existing businesses with access to the SBDC’s menu of free, confidential services is a tremendous asset. Healthcare Training Hub
The Healthcare Training Hub (formerly named the Center of Nursing Excellence) is a regional nursing education center for southern Virginia, housed in the SVHEC. The Healthcare Training Hub includes a high-tech simulation lab equipped with medical equipment, supplies and high-fidelity manikins (human-shaped models used for clinical or surgical scenarios); a debriefing area equipped with video and audio playback of conducted simulations; a state-of-the-art classroom; and a five-bed skills lab replicating a hospital setting. Through advanced simulation technology, the Healthcare Training Hub offers students the ability to acquire hands-on experiences and critical thinking skills in a safe environment.
Pearson VUE-Authorized Testing Center
We are proud to be an authorized testing center for Pearson VUE (CompTIA, VCLA, GED, etc.,). The Anthem Computer Lab in the 820 Bruce Street Building is our designated testing area and is available on Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. If you are taking a Pearson VUE assessment at the SVHEC Assessment Center, please register for your assessment through www.pearsonvue.com and select the SVHEC as your preferred testing location.
