CTA Year 2 Work-Based Learning

Work-Based Learning is open to high school seniors and provides them with work experiences where they apply the skills gained during their Level 1 training. These work experiences may include internships, job shadowing, and mentoring, and many are paid experiences.

Entrepreneurship

Thanks to a partnership with the SoVA RISE Collaborative, CTA now offers a Work-Based Learning track focused on entrepreneurship. Students in this track receive instruction on the foundations of starting a business, and will be matched with a small business owner for a work-based learning experience. The entrepreneurial track is ideal for students who may want to start or run a business; however, students of all interests will benefit from instruction that develops the entrepreneurial mindset which includes critical thinking, adaptation, flexibility, and resiliency.

Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Charlotte, Halifax, or Mecklenburg Counties are invited to play an active role in the WBL-Entrepreneurship program by serving as a guest speaker or mentor, or by providing students with job shadowing opportunities? If you’re ready to help grow the next generation of entrepreneurs please complete a short interest form.
