 The Center of Nursing Excellence (CNE) offers Basic Life Support Certification Through Blended Learning

Obtain your American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification through blended learning. Blended learning is a combination of an online course and an in-person assessment.

How Does It Work?

Blended learning uses self-directed, e-learning followed by a hands-on assessment. Students complete the course online, and then schedule an in-person, hands-on assessment with an American Heart Association certified instructor at the Center of Nursing Excellence.

How Do I Register?

  1. Log onto the American Heart Association website and purchase the HeartCode online portion.Once the online course is purchased, an access code will be provided.

  2. Once the online course has been completed, participants will contact the CNE to schedule the hands on skills portion and test. Participants will need to present a copy of the online portion completion certificate and pay SVHEC Finance Department before testing. Individuals with an active student ID card and SVHEC staff members will pay $15.00 for the hands on portion. All others will pay $25.00.
