CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ helps you decide if a career in information technology (IT) is right for you while helping you reach a broader understanding of IT. The curriculum covers a wide range of IT concepts and provides instruction leading to a pre-career and industry-recognized certification – CompTIA IT Fundamentals+. Students exit the program with the fundamental skills needed to succeed in the CompTIA A+ certification program. Students are introduced to a variety of IT career pathways in this course.
CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for launching an IT career. You will learn how to identify, use, and connect hardware components and devices including the technologies that support a remote workforce. You will gain experience in installing and supporting the Windows operating system and troubleshooting other common operating systems using real equipment in our lab. Networking, security, mobile devices, virtualization and cloud computing, operational procedures and troubleshooting are all part of the curriculum. This course prepares students for the CompTIA A+ certification exams 220-1101 and 220-1102.
Advanced and Specialty Courses
CompTIA Network+ teaches the technical skills needed to securely set up, support and troubleshoot the essential networks that businesses rely on. Topics include basic networking concepts including services, physical connections, topologies, and cloud connectivity. You will work with routing technologies, deploy ethernet solutions and configure wireless networks using real equipment. Network operations, security and troubleshooting are also part of the curriculum. This course prepares students for the CompTIA Network+ exam N10-008.
CompTIA Security+ covers the core knowledge needed in the cybersecurity field. Through classroom instruction and hands-on labs, you will learn to assess an organization’s security and monitor and secure hybrid environments including cloud, mobile and IoT. You will also learn to identify, analyze, and respond to security incidents. This course prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ exam SY0-601.
CompTIA Server+ teaches the skills needed to work with servers in datacenters, on-premises and in hybrid environments. This course has a heavy emphasis on hands-on practice and covers server hardware installation and management, server administration, security and disaster recovery and troubleshooting. The course prepares students for the CompTIA Server+ certification exam SK0-005.
Linux Essentials introduces Linux and the open-source industry, including the most popular open-source applications. You will develop the technical proficiency to work on the Linux command line and have a basic understanding of IT security and systems administration-related topics. This course prepares students for the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Linux Essentials certification.
Introduction to Cloud Administration teaches you the foundational business and technical components of cloud computing. You will learn and practice the basics of setting up, managing, administering, and securing a Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This course prepares students for two certifications: CompTIA Cloud Essentials+ and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900.
CompTIA Data+ is a data analytics course to help business professionals better analyze, interpret, and present data to promote data-driven business decision-making. You will learn data concepts and environments, develop data mining skills, and learn to apply proper statistical methods. A key part of the course is data visualization- how to translate business requirements to create the right form of a report or dashboard using proper design components. The course prepares students for the CompTIA Data+ certification.
Introduction to Computer Programming introduces you to basic programming concepts in the C programming language, followed by instruction in the basics of the popular Python programming language. Hands-on learning involving practical applications for solving everyday problems in IT and other fields. You will demonstrate proficiency by developing several programs individually. This course prepares students for the Python Institute PCEP Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification.
