The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) is excited to announce its lineup of free summer camps to introduce middle and high school students to dynamic careers in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and information technology. These camps will inspire students to explore in-demand career paths through interactive workshops, real-world challenges, and mentorship from industry professionals.

The Entrepreneurship Camp will be held June 9-11th from 9am-1pm and is open to rising 10th-12th grade students. Students will be immersed in the world of business through interactive workshops, real-world challenges, and team competitions. Guided by successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will gain valuable skills in marketing, finance, product development, public speaking, and networking.

SVHEC will offer two sessions of the Healthcare Careers Camp. Students may attend session one June 11-15th or session two July 16-18th. The camp will be held from 9am-3pm each day, and students will be provided with lunch and snacks at no cost.

The Healthcare Careers Camp will allow students to explore the world of healthcare through interactive activities, hands-on training, and connections with healthcare professionals. Students will explore a variety of health-related career pathways, and hear from healthcare professionals. This camp is open to rising 9th-12th grade students.

For technology focused students the IT Career Camp is the ideal option. This will provide students with an opportunity to get up close with the world of IT. Camp attendees will learn the basics of computer components, disassemble computer hardware, explore troubleshooting, and take an escape room challenge. Whether you have a budding coder, future cybersecurity expert, or a curious young person who wants to learn more, this camp offers a rewarding experience. The IT Career Camp will meet June 23-25 from 8:30am-11:30am each day.
